About the project

Art Zupynka is dedicated to the unique artistic phenomenon actively developed in the 1960's Ukraine. It made possible for artists to express themselves and resist the ideological Soviet censorship.

It presents bus stops (Ukrainian "zupynky") designed by Ukrainian artists of the last century. Each bus stop is a unique artwork. Most of them are now ruined and destroyed.

We started this project before the Russian invasion, so we were able to preserve some of them in a form of pictures, restored patterns and timeless prints on silk scarves.

Professional authors with well-known names and beginners have invested in stone paintings and mosaic panels with their thoughts, ideas and visions of the beauty of Ukrainian nature, sacred Ukrainian symbols, stories of the past and future to leave us an incredible creative legacy.

Before the war, we have conducted a couple of interviews with artists: Titiana Lukashevych (an artist working in Rivne), Serhii Savchenko (an artist from Odessa) and Volodymyr Pryadko.
